Friday evening, Linda Harrison once again took up the gauntlet in her Weight Throw event where she came 6th place in her age group with 6.79m.

Scores: 6.66m 6.75m 5.78m 6.66m 5.22m 6.79m

An hour later, Linda changed discipline with the Triple Jump final with a best of 5.52m.

Scores: 5.23m 5.38m 5.42m 5.39m 5.39m 5.52m

Yesterday (Sat) saw a plenty field, mostly made up of Canadians in the Half Marathon. Therefore it came as no surprise that Canada claimed all team wins for every age category. However there were four Brits contesting within 4 age categories; one of them being Colin Oxlade where he came 4th out of 14 in his age group with a time of 1hr 24m 57s
Although Colin did not beat his PB of 1hr 18m 39s, he did manage to almost cut 2 minutes from his 2008 best performance of 1hr 26m 27s !

The competition has now concluded and a closing ceremony was held last night (Sat) where I am sure both Linda and Colin celebrated their achievements.

Update: 7/3/10 - 19:38 - I received an email from the chief official photographer a few moments ago who confirmed the priority was to get the photos displayed on boards in the '2010 Center' in Kamloops before publishing on the website. He confirmed the photos will be available on-line to view and order by Wednesday or Thursday next week. (11/3/10 - These photo links have now been added below ).

The Hammers (not FC) were in full swing yesterday afternoon in Canada when Linda Harrison took up her slot and fought valiantly with the 3k weight. Amongst the Americans and Germans, it was like World War III as missiles were launched in the air and stormig back to ground level. Linda achieved 7th overall in her age group with a best of 18.07m

Linda's scores were:-

17.97m 17.59m 17.44m 18.00m 18.07m 17.05m

Go for it Linda !!

Linda has a busy schedule tomorrow (Friday) evening where she contents the Weight Throw and Triple Jump.
Colin finishes his last competition with a Half Marathon on Saturday where he competes with a field of 119, including 6 Brits.

Sadly there are no further photos to reference on their site mentioned below.

We wish them all the best.
