11:00 400m Men Round 1 (Completed - Result ) Watch Video
Croydon Harrier Martyn Rooney made light work of his 400m heat this morning with a comfortable 2nd place in 45.72secs.
The 23 year-old went off quickly for the first 250m before easing down to conserve energy for tomorrow's semi-finals.
You can see the race on the BBC Iplayer when its uploaded.
19:15 100m Men Round 1 (Completed - Result ) Watch Video
James Dasaolu performed well in his Round 1 Heat this evening and finished 3rd place with a time of 10.40 which puts him through to the Semi Final on Thursday.
A baptism of Fire for James for a testing Round 1 race which James coped well with. A strong good performance all the way, out of the blocks nicely with a stagger away and engaged the big muscle groups getting the real power all the way through and transffering it well in his running.
Qualifying is what it is all about. The Semi Finals is where it matters to go further.

19:00 400m Men Semi-final (Completed - Result ) Watch Video
Martyn Rooney just scraped through into the final as a fastest loser thanks to a 45.0secs clocking. He is drawn in lane 1 for the Final.

James concluded his race with a 3rd place finish. Being the 3rd heat comparing the fastest 2 losers over all 3 heats of 10.21 and 10.23 was evidence that James' improved time of 10.31 was not enough and sadly meant he would not be in the final. It looked convincing up to the last few strides but in this discipline those last strides make such a difference. James did us proud and certainly with this new experience at just 22 years of age has much more to show us in the coming years !
21:45 100m Men FINAL (Completed - Result )
A brilliant final right up to the line for 5 of the 8 athletes where 10.18 was given to 4 athletes behind winner Frenchman Chistophe Lemaitre with 10.11 who edged his way forward at the last moment to take the lead.
Photo Finish have now become available from the Semi Final heats and Final 400m. These links are available below.

21:25 400m Men FINAL (Completed - Result ) Watch Video
Martyn Rooney allocated Lane 1 which Martyn is used to running out the last leg in the relay. Bingham being drawn in the unfavourable Lane 8.
Fast start in Lane 8 by Bingham - stormed round the first bend and had a big lead into the back straight. Had he gone too early at this point ?
Kevin Borlee (Belgium) also was going well at this stage. Rooney trying to get involved whilst still at the back at this stage at the 160m stage.
Bingham going into top bend going well what looked like a clear advantage at that stage.
On the final bend Gillick (Ireland and Martyn's training partner) and Borlee catching on Bingham whilst Rooney picked up in Lane 1 with 33.0 sec gone.
Bingham starting to fade at 34sec whilst Djhone (France) slightly ahead on straight. Rooney staying in lead from 33 sec to 44.2sec with 9 metres left to cover then the other Borlee (Lane 6) pushed forward by inches then by a foot with 5 metres from the leader Kevin Borlee in lane 6 towards the conclusion.
Djhone had lost strength at this point. A blanket finish that needed Photo Finish to confirm the result and where Rooney had actually finished - was it 3rd or 4th ?
It was then confirmed Rooney had got Bronze (See photo Finish) with Silver for Bingham as he had crept forward also at the last few inches.
An increbibly exciting race. No-one expected a finish like this ! The slow winning time of 45.08 was also a surprise especially with that unravelling finish. The Russian Kevin Borlee took Gold.
Gillick (5th) missed out after such a convincing Semi Final finish along with a fast time.
The Russian, Krasnov in Lane 7 was just out-dipped by Rooney which made the difference between 3rd and 4th. This can be seen in the photo finish link below but also one of the photo shots in the Photo Gallery album.
A well run race with a finish brilliantly executed by Martyn !

11:20 4x400m Men Round 1 - Lane 2
Squad to select from
(Bold - Selected for Heat)
Michael Bingham
Richard Buck - 2
Chris Clarke
Graham Hedman - 3
Robert Tobin - 4
Conrad Williams - 1
No mention of Martyn Rooney - obviously an omission !
31/7/10 - It would seem not to be an omission for qualifying race.
Tobin brought Britain home with a clear win of 3:04.09 in the first Relay heat. The Final will no doubt include different team members for surely Bingham and Rooney - which two will be dropped - Richard Buck and Graham Hedman ?
Poland and Netherlands are also through and whoever is the fastest losing squad.
Very close finishing the second heat with Belgium winning 3:03.49. Germany, Russia go through with one fastest loser Italy which means France has made it through to the Final.
18:40 VC24 400m Men
Watch Studio Interview Video - Sadly no Medal Ceremony yet again
Sunday 1 August 2010
19:35 4x100m Men FINAL (Did not Reach Final)
21:00 VC38 4x100m Men
21:55 4x400m Men FINAL
Britain in Lane 3 whilst Belgium in Lane 4
Another close finish after Martyn had made up a fair distance on the home straight and was still going strong but there was no track left before the finish line and Britain had to resort with Silver otherwise another few metres would have just pipped the line to take Gold.
However a very good run by the British team. There were a number of blockages to get through whilst the Russians impeded access. It really was a battle. The Video will be added shortly if you missed it.
22:20 Closing Ceremony (including 4x400m men and women VC )
Most likely there will be no Medal Ceremony broadcast via BBC as they are bound to have to go off-air as always with Relay ceremonies.
I could be wrong !! - I WAS NOT WRONG !!!
VC = Victory Ceremonies
